Photos of the four pups from our last two litters have been posted (the fifth dog we acquired to evaluate from another kennel). They are all looking great. They all seem to be curious, bold pups who were even going in the heavy cover. You can check them out HERE.We also added some training pics from Saturday. Hope you enjoy.

All the puppies have gone to their new homes. "Big Boot" went home with his new family on Tuesday. We are keeping a male and female out of each litter to train and evaluate. We were pleasantly surprised with the incredible demand for these puppies.Thank you for all of your interest and support.
Ranger Places Third in Field Trial.

Ranger placed third today in the NSTRA Trial at the Columbia Game Club in Sullivan, Ohio. He ran great and found five birds.

We received another fantastic update, from our friend Bill Wycoff this time, who purchased Miya from us as a puppy and had her return for training. Thank you so much for the great update Bill! We love to hear from our friends and see pictures of our dogs enjoying their lives (and doing their jobs well of course!).Some PICTURES are HERE.

Due to the absolutely incredible demand for these pups, out of the twenty dogs whelped, only three pups are still available. We are keeping a male and female from each litter.

Elizabeth picked up her belated Christmas present today! Sharing this great day is her bestfriend Trinity. These are the awesome moments we live for as breeders. We had a bunch of puppies go home today from the Ella/Ranger litter. There are still puppies available from the Lulu/Luke litter. For a full size version of this awesome day, see here.

Lulu and Luke's Puppies are 6 weeks old and will be ready to go home with their new families next weekend (Sunday, January 15th). First pick male is still available as of posting this.We have updated their photos. It was hard to keep them still enough to photograph... these are going to be some fantastic dogs!

Ella's pups are 10 days old. We are pleased to announce we are now taking deposits on picks. There are a total of 11 beautiful pups, 6 females (2 Liver and 4 Liver and White, Patched and Ticked) and 5 Males (4 Liver and 1 Liver and White, Patched and Ticked). Check out more details here...

Lulu had her puppies today. She and her gorgeous babies seem to be doing great. Things are really crazy around here with two litters at once! We will post more photos and info when the pups get a little older. In the meantime, check out a couple photos here.

Well, it's official... We have puppies! Ella had her puppies today. Both mom and babies seem to be doing great. We have our hands full here with this litter and making sure everything is ready for Lulu to have hers next week. We will have more info soon. In the meantime, check out a couple photos here.

Casey Graduated from the "Board In" Training Program. As a graduate, she is steady to flush, retrieves to hand (even in water) and displays good manners in the field. This young dog has a very promising hunting career ahead of her.Check out other training graduates HERE.

Von Weider's HNTR Ranger has been entered in the 2011 Dog of the Year NSTRA trial in Amo, Indiana on October 26 - 29, 2011. This national trial has 192 entries.

Max goes home today after "Steady to Wing" training. Max is a Von Weider bred pup (littermate to Ella - breeding page) and a graduate of the 'board-in program'.
'Stead to wing' is a very practical skill which makes it much safer to shoot over your dog.

Tanglefoot Luke (VW training grad) bagged his first grouse of the season today. One find, two shots, one down and one retrieved. Luke pointed some woodcock as well, but they are out of season until the 24th. Thanks for the photo Dan and Luke! 2011 Pointing Dog Challenge

Von Weider's HNTR Ranger participated in the first ever Pointing Dog Challenge at Crosswind Kennels in Maybee, MI today. The format was traditional pointing breeds vs. pointing labs. Bucktown's Bonito Shadow (Shadow), owned/handled by Marty Welsh, takes a first place in A Field and second in B Field in todays Open Division NSTRA Field Trials. Shadow is a graduate of our board-in training program. Great Job Shadow!

Gretel beat the heat and a tough field and placed first in the NSTRA Amateur field trial today at Mil-Run Farm. Gretel had three finds and three great retrieves. She performed very well in the heat. "Roading" conditioning has really paid off.
